Dehydrated kiwis are one of Quebecers' favorites. Try them in your cereals, in your "cocktails" or simply as a healthy snack. They are a very good source of fiber, potassium and vitamins. Kiwis come from New Zealand or the United States depending on availability.
Kiwis are native to China. There, we find all kinds of them. However, it was not until the middle of the 20th century that it was cultivated on a large scale, first in New Zealand, where large-fruited varieties were selected, then in California. The fruit first appeared on our market stalls in the 1980s, in the wake of new Californian cuisine.
